Batang, August 2025 – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting national logistics connectivity by completing Phase I of the Batang Terminal located in the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KITB), Central Java. This terminal is expected to have a multiplier effect and create community development that can improve logistics efficiency and regional economic growth as well as create jobs for the surrounding community.
Executive Director 3 of Pelindo, Daru Wicaksono Julianto, stated that the completion of the first phase of the Batang Terminal is a tangible manifestation of Pelindo’s commitment to supporting the development of the national logistics ecosystem.
“This terminal is expected to play a strategic role as an efficient and integrated distribution hub for goods, linking the industrial zone to drive economic growth in Central Java, particularly in Batang Regency,” Daru explained.
Daru added that the terminal's presence is one of the pillars supporting the development of the Integrated Batang Industrial Zone, which is part of the National Strategic Project (PSN). Its presence is expected to strengthen investment appeal, drive local economic growth, and create new job opportunities for residents in Batang Regency and surrounding areas
“As part of the operational trial phase, we have successfully docked the first barge with a total length (LOA) of 108 meters at Batang Terminal, marking the readiness of the pier and supporting facilities to fully serve port activities,” added Daru.
Technically, the first phase of Batang Terminal construction includes key infrastructure such as a 350-meter causeway, a 361-meter trestle, and a 152-meter wharf with an initial depth of –5 m LWS, which will be further deepened to –10.5 m LWS. This pier can accommodate ships up to 10,000 DWT, making it a strategic facility for handling various types of industrial cargo.
Additionally, Pelindo has prepared a storage yard spanning approximately 2 hectares, capable of accommodating dry bulk cargo, liquid bulk cargo, containers, and general cargo. Land-based infrastructure includes an operational office, mechanical and electrical systems, an integrated security network, and an electricity supply from PLN with a capacity of 82.5 kVA, which has been operational since July 2025. All permits have been finalized, including approvals from the Ministry of Transportation and the Batang Regency Government.
“The completion of the first phase of the Batang Terminal is a manifestation of Pelindo's role as a state-owned port company in supporting the development of the national logistics ecosystem, accelerating economic growth, and creating added value for the surrounding community,” concluded Daru.
